Halton Regional Police are investigating a reported armed robbery in Georgetown.Police said the heist occurred around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, when two individuals entered the Cash 4 You loan store located at 184 Guelph St.One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and pointed it at an employee and a customer, Halton police said in a news release. Jack Carpenter was fiercely proud of the town he called home and he would do just about anything to promote it.So with Acton making plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of being incorporated as town, Carpenter launched a bid for the town to host the 1974 Grey Cup in Prospect Park. There was no obstacle Carpenter couldnt find a solution for. When the CFL stanley cup asked for a guaranteed gate of $600,000, Carpenter said hed find six wealthy people to pay $100,000 each. Thats not a bad deal considering it includes parking, Carpenter told the Acton Free Press.
